The Pyramid Mindset Fix #2 (Never Quit Again...)

Stew smith

A Foundation of Fitness Needs to Grow
Into MUCH More...

The Mindset Fix Series:  #1 Ten Second Fix

The pyramid above is explained in detail below:

From the bottom up the pyramid, here is how the process of accomplishing tough goals happens. In the case of tactical fitness and jobs in the military, police, fire fighter a foundation of fitness is required:

This Foundation is built with strength/power, muscle stamina / endurance,
speed / agility, flexibility / mobility, and grip – Created through persistent training / competing.  Being good at all of them will take time - Learn how to use time efficiently with Seasonal Tactical Fitness Periodization Training.

The Next Level is discipline. By being persistent and creating good habits, you have made yourself more disciplined. If you reach your physical goals, you did that by making good decisions, training even when motivation was low, and building solid habits and a disciplined life. You did the right thing even when no one is watching!

Grit and Resilience is developed.  There will be plenty of things that occur to hamper progress, how do you get through those hurdles? How well do you recover from negative feedback, failures, stresses, and obstacles? Do you come back stronger than before or quit? This step is an absolute must if you want to succeed in ANYTHING. But most people do not have this ability if they have not had previous experiences in similarly challenging events.
Is This Goal a Calling? Is this a Passion? In your Heart? - How do you measure what is in someone’s heart or if this is a passion or just a whim?  If you feel what you are training for and attempting to accomplish is a calling, not just a job or cool accomplishment, you may have the right stuff.

Ask Yourself: Why are you doing this? You need a good answer when you are tested. When things get tough, quitting cannot even be in your thought process. Keep moving forward and getting stronger from every challenge and growing to be able to UP YOUR GAME is what passion and heart enable you to do.
Finally, the mystery of success when completing something that is difficult - How bad do you really want this?  When things get hard, do you get tougher? You will have a moment of truth at some point.  Do you have an answer to the question above - Why are you doing this? Wouldn't you like to take an easier route?
You are not truly tested until you hit this final marker:  There is a moment that occurs when you are tired, over-stressed, body aching, heart pounding, gasping to catch your breath, muscles failing that a voice talks to you. The tone of what is said by that voice depends on only one thing - HOW BAD YOU WANT IT. That moment that a decision has to be made. That decision is - do I stay or do I go? Do I suck it up or do I stop this pain and misery? Do I fight through this long ass day and start fresh tomorrow?

We Have Answers For Beginners to Advanced Spec Ops Level Training Programs (see below)

DO NOT RELY ON THE MILITARY TO GET YOU INTO SHAPE AT BASIC TRAINING.  You will get into better shape for sure during your training if you arrive in lower fitness form, but you need to arrive with a foundation of physical fitness that is specific to your future job in the military / fitness tests / training. If you show up out of shape, you could end up failing standards or injuring yourself causing longer delays or removal from training altogether.

We have programs to help you get TO and THROUGH training. We also have training programs to help you with training as you age in these professions (Tactical Fitness 40+ series).
