This Book Has Helped Thousands Just Like You Make It Through!
12 Weeks to BUD/S!
In case you're not aware of it, The Complete Guide to Navy SEAL Fitness book holds the secret to you preparing yourself for BUDS. If you do this program - and maybe even repeat it - you will prepare yourself for the muscle stamina and endurance needed in special ops training. If you need to gain strength, it can help you with that too, but you may need to consider a 12 week lifting cycle (Navy SEAL Weight Training Workout) if you are not coming from a strength / power background (athletic history).

About Tactical Fitness Preparation for SEAL Training
I have been creating tactical fitness programming for over 20 years now - before we EVEN called it Tactical Fitness - I wrote that book too. When I created this program, I had just created his tactical fitness periodization training system. The 12 Weeks to BUDS Workout fits perfectly into the Spring / Summer high repetitions calisthenics, running, and swimming cycle.
If you have a weakness of running, swimming, or hitting high repetitions calisthenics testing scores, this book is ideal for you. If you think 1.5 mile run is long distance and need to practice swimming, this book is idea for you. Crush any fitness test that challenges pushups, situps, pullups, running and swimming. Quite frankly, this program works and always has IF you do it. Get TO and THROUGH BUDS with this program.
Here's the big takeaway for you: I cannot tell you how many Navy SEALs, Special Forces, RECON/MarSOC, and Air Force PJ/CCTs have told me that this book is what got them through training – see my To, Through, and After Podcasts for many of their Spec Ops Stories. They did the hard work of doing the workouts consistently. You cannot just read this book – You have to DO THIS BOOK. Just follow the plans.
What makes this fitness book special as opposed to others (even the free ones) is you can contact the author - Navy SEAL veteran Stew Smith anytime. Follow me on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook for LIVE videos and answers to your questions. But just email him if you have specific questions about the program, and I will help you personalize it for your situation, equipment, facilities, and abilities. How cool is that?
Something really helpful that owning the Complete Guide to Navy SEAL Fitness book does that most people don't realize is you can even send CSS swimming videos to Stew Smith Fitness social media accounts. Maybe even consider joining the Members-Only Program, where you get access to hundreds of weeks of unpublished workouts, special downloadable workouts, personalized critiques, weekly emails with new workouts, articles, and videos, and more.

By the way, this is NOT for those of you who are not serious about your fitness and future spec ops goals. It is not really for beginners, though there is a basic program for beginners to start with if you are not in condition to do the 12 Weeks to BUDS program. But give yourself plenty of time to grow into a prepared recruit.
It is for those who want to serve their country in any special ops program that involves water (Navy SEAL, SWCC, EOD / Diver, Rescue Swimmer, AF PJ, RECON, etc). You have to seriously be dedicated to serving in that capacity.
The thing I love most about it is that you will not feel alone with this plan. If you need to, just ask the me or others doing the program on the Stew Smith Tactical Fitness Training closed Facebook group. Join the group where hundreds of people share your goals and want to prepare for challenges and maintain their active duty / high level of fitness status.
I still use this fitness book too and I have been doing these type of workouts now for over 30 years. We still do many of them as written in this book as well as made alterations over time and created new programs like Navy SEAL PST Training Phases 1,2/3, and 4 as well as Maximum Fitness - Navy SEAL Cross-Training.
Navy SEAL Workout Phase 2 - 3 - Intermediate Weeks 1-12
Navy SEAL Workout Phase 4 Grinder PT - Four weeks before Hell Week
When you compare The Complete Guide to Navy SEAL Fitness book to other programs out there. Not many authors give you their email and ask you to ask questions. I answer questions daily - hundreds of them - and make articles out of them. In fact, you can ask a question to google and place my name in quotations and likely see a few fitness related articles and videos made on that topic (tactical fitness)
Now is the time to take a hard look at this because it works. Plus, if you take full advantage and follow me on facebook, youtube, and instagram, you will get updated training ideas, swim video critiques, and much much more.

Core Mission

Tactical Fitness Training For the Candidate / Recruit: Specializing in preparing individuals for military, special ops, law enforcement, and firefighter selection programs (getting you "TO and THROUGH" training).
-
Functional Training for Both Active Duty / Recruits: Utilizing a seasonal tactical fitness periodization system that balances longer workouts of running/rucking, swimming, and calisthenics during the Spring/Summer when days are longer. Then, the focus shifts in the Fall/Winter to lifting (Cals/cardio maintenance) when the days are shorter/colder. This process has 25 years of proven success building tactical athletes who improve in all areas of fitness: strength, power, speed, agility, endurance, muscle stamina, mobility, flexibility, and grip.

- Becoming an Asset for All Types: Even non-tactical athletes want to be of use in situations that require some level of fitness to get through the day. Be an asset, not a liability, in potentially dangerous situations, whether natural or man-made. Fitness can be a common denominator in successfully enduring life-or-death scenarios.

Where to Find More Information About Optimal Performance Training Programs
When you start training again, consider the seasonal tactical fitness model. I call it A WAY to train and obviously not the only way to train. But it offers the opportunity to never neglect your weaknesses, improves flexibility and mobility, and puts you at a level of physical ability where you are happy with your overall ability to do just about anything. We have a system where the seasons dictate our training. When it is nicer outside, we tend to run and do more calisthenics. When it is colder and not so nice, we lift more, run less, and still maintain our outdoor activities with shorter runs and rucks. Check it out: Seasonal Tactical Fitness Periodization System.
